Reeves; 2nd to Holly Vincent; Clack's 3rd TN Infantry, Company D., died as a soldier of the Confederate States Army in a northern prison during the Civil War. A new Military Marker was installed 28 Mar 2009 between Holley & Mary S. Scott his 1st & 2nd wives.
William S. Scott was born in 1818. His 2 wives are buried next to Thomas Scott here in the Chaffin Cemetery.
During the War between the States, at the battle of Fort Donelson Tennessee, William S. was captured by the US Army while fighting for the Confederate States Army of Tennessee. He was sent to Camp Douglas Prison Camp, Illinois. He died there July 22, 1862 of causes unknown to us and is buried there in the Confederate Mass Grave.

Cousin Ross and I (Wes) finally got out to Chaffin Cemetery today and put up the Memorial Marker for our (2nd great) uncle William S. Scott. As suggested I put it between Holley's and Mary's graves. My only regret was that it was slightly damaged in transit by a tow motor.
I am glad that I was able to install this memorial. As white as this stone is it now makes the cemetery easier to see. The Brawders (surrounding land owners & gardeners) have said they are going to sow grass seed soon in the cemetery.
