KENNEDY, G.A., 20 Jan 1802 - 22 Feb 1890. (Nat. N.C.) (George Alexander Kennedy was born neart Hartsville, Sumner Co (now Trousdale Co.) TN. He is the son of Mary Elizabeth Cathey and Alexander Kennedy.
From his obituary - He came (as an orphan boy) with his grandfather (Cathey) to Maury county in the year of 1807. The colony with which he came being among the earliest to cross to the south side of the Duck River coming into an almost unbroken wilderness. A few settlers had proceeded them in 1806.
George A. Kennedy Married Elizabeth Cathey (mem. # 8849965) on November 6, 1821. George was a farmer. His Children are Albert Alexander ( b. 1822), James Jackson (b. 1825 died as an infant), Mary Jane (b. 1826), William Clayborn (b. 1828, mem #8827517), Nancy Elizabeth (b. 1830), Martha Lemira (b. 1836), George W. (b. 1834 died at about 2 yrs.), Elizabeth Ann (b.1837 died 8 yrs. old), Alice Adaline (b. 1838).
