Griffith R. Whiteside married Parmelia Crowell (b. 25 Dec 1849; d. 23 Sept 1870) 4 Feb 1869. They were only married a little over 1 year when she died. He married Alice Rebecca Whiteside (b. 17 Feb 1846; d. 11 Sep 1904) 30 May 1889. Alice Rebecca was the daughter of Robert Neely Whiteside and Rachel Ann Finley. She was first married to James D. Weatherly (b. 13 Feb 1846; d. 2 Jan 1883). Alice Rebecca is buried near James D. Weatherly in the Whiteside Cemetery, Lewis Co., TN. She was the mother of two daughters: Martha and Ruth Weatherly.
