BAXTER, A.J., 6 Dec 1842 - 6 Feb 1912. (C.S.A., Andrew J. Baxter, Wilson's 21st Tenn Cav., Co. E. 2nd Lieutenant. Ref: Civil War Soldiers and Sailors film #M231 roll 3; From "Civil War in Maury Co. Tn., by Garrett & Lightfoot, 1966, pg. 143 ."..In an engagement on the Lewisburg and Franklin Pike near Douglass Church on April 10, 1863, Freeman had been killed (is is said, after he had surrendered), and Lieutenants Huggins and Baxter captured, with many of the men..."
