ANDREWS CEMETERY,  MAURY COUNTY TENNESSEE

Go one mile north of Howard's Bridge across Duck River, Turn left on Negro Creek Road it is on the left side near the road. Earl Cheek owned property surrounding cemetery during 1986.

ANDREWS, J. K. Polk, 4 Sep 1839 - 25 Oct 1928. (James K. Polk Andrews; s/o Michael S. & Patsy (Patrick) Andrews, who came to Tenn. from N.C., mar. Hannah Harris, d/o Charles & Martha (Chunn) Harris. They had 4 sons and three daughters; He served 4 yrs in Confederate States of Army, MCTC records him as being ranked 1st Lieut, I only found Pvt.; 17th Tenn Inf. Co. C. rank in Pvt. rank out Pvt. Ref: Civil War Soldiers & Sailors Film #M231 roll 1; From the Tn. State Library Archives J.K.P. Andrews Maury Co., Soldier's Pension #'s S13058 & S15703 both with the 17th Inf.)
ANDREWS, Hannah Harris, 1846 - Nov 1903. (Tenn. native; d/o Charles & Martha Chunn Harris, her father was from S. C., mar. 22 Apr 1864 in Maury Co. Tn.; Wife of James K. Polk Andrews.)
ANDREWS, John M., 22 Jan 1874 - 8 Dec 1913. (Son of J. K. Polk & Hannah Harris Andrews.), (two stones mark his grave)
ANDREWS, James W.,2 Feb 1866 - 25 Apr 1885. "Son J. P. & H. A. Andrews"; (Drowned at age 19.)
CARPENTER, W. T., 22 Jun 1896 - 5 Oct 1917.
MOSER, Bertie, 22 Jan 1879 - 19 Jan 1918. (Bertie May, daughter of J.K.P. & Hannah Harris Andrews. Born in Marshall Co., Tn.)
ROSS, Robert Whitmer, 8 Mar 1954 - 6 Nov 1981.

Thought to be buried here:
CARPENTER, William, '33, died 14 Sep 1902 at Andrews of typhoid fever. Wife & two children survive." (Columbia Daily Herald, 9-16-1902).

This is a well kept and beautifully decorated cemetery maintained with love and respect for those gone before.
