BURNETT, Mary Campbell, 1908 - 1999.

Franklin Business and professional Women club choose her "Outstanding Women of the Year". Miss Burnett retired after 47 years in the teaching profession and all those years were spent at Franklin schools. Gardening is one of her joys. She loves to sew and makes many of her own clothes. She is a member of Fourth Avenue Church of Christ. She also loves to travel. She has been a life long resident of Williamson County. She went to high school in Knoxville where she stayed with an aunt and remained there for three years of her work toward her B.S. degree at the University of Tennessee. She returned to Franklin and started teaching while she finished her B.S. at Peabody where she also received her M.A.
