THOMPSON, Willie, 26 Oct 1797 - 11 Apr 1862 (Willie Thompson is often called
Wyley or Wiley in other old records of this county. He died the day Federal
troops captured the town of Huntsville during the
Civil War. It is said that Mr. Thompson saw the army coming and died of a heart
attack. From the records here we learn he had two sons of fighting age who
undoubtedly were fighting for the Confederacy. At this point maybe he also had
not heard of their safety.) 3894
