SIVLEY CEMETERY, (John Hunt
Park) HUNTSVILLE ALABAMA.
Silvey Cemetery looking southwest from outside of the gated fence while standing
in the John Hunt Park.
Silvey Cemetery looking northwest from outside of the gated fence while standing
in the John Hunt Park.
Looking at the base of the large
Pin Oak tree. The rock on the left may have at one time marked the head or foot
of a grave even a lost grave.
Looking at the base of the Jacob
Sivley family stones. On the right is Jacob Sivley, his wife Alcey, & a son
Joseph Sivley further left.
A shot inside the
long north south tract of the cemetery with plenty of room for unmarked graves.
There is a story of buried treasure being uncovered here that I chose not to
tell because some idiot will think they can go digging here and find something.
The only thing they will do is desecrate the graves here. Do not be caught
digging in this cemetery or you will be prosecuted by the law. Cameras will
catch you mounted on the buildings across the fence for security purposes.
Panning the Camera westward from the above photo.
Looking west at the Andrew Sivley family monument.
Looking southwest at the Jacob Sivley military & family memorials from the east side of
the cemetery.
This southward photo give one a sense of how long this cemetery is with plenty
of open space for unknown graves. Also it may be that though there are five
names inscribed on one monument the graves may be in a row down this way.
This southeast photo gives one a sense of how long this cemetery is with plenty
of open space for unknown graves.
Panning the camera left more yields this photo in a more eastward shot. We see
the entrance monument and the Crews memorial under the cedar trees.
Looking west across the base ball field toward the Sivley Cemetery just this
side of the light poles in the distance.
