MASSENGALE, Mahala, 21 Sep 1823 - 6 Aug 1846, My peace is made, All is well: I'm going home, With Christ to dwell.  (Mahala Massengale's upright tombstone was broken by the pressure up against it from an old tree before it decayed. Her stone was lying face down when I found it.) 0948C / 0948 / footstone M. M.: 0945C / 09450949 / 0950
In Memory of Mahala Massengale, Born Sept. 21, 1823, Died Aug. 6, 1846, My peace is made, All is well: I'm going home, With Christ to dwell.

SISCO, Zech W., 24 Mar 1814 - 28 Jan 1844. (nee Zachariah W. Sisco; his tombstone is a hand carved fieldstone that is no longer found in this cemetery.) 0951F
ZECH x W x SISCO was Born March th 24 1814, Died Jan. th 28 1844.

At the foot of Mahala's grave is an adult's grave marked only with two unlettered fieldstones. One is the headstone (west) and the other the footstone (east).  0946
Other fieldstones marking graves: 0947 / 0951 / 0952/ 0955

All the "S's" were reversed on the Sisco and the Massengale stones indicating the same tombstone inscriber did both stones.

There were many unmarked graves, in this nearly quarter acre plot. The Mahala Massengale stone is now divided across two property lines of two neighbors. Maybe the original line was moved at one time to the east into the near center of Mahala's grave after a survey.
