This topographical map shows the GPS of the Blankenship Cemetery. The location is indicated in the center of the map marked at GPS N 34.83973 X W -86.51986. Specific Location: Section 28-2-1E-NE SE NE. These graves are located on a small hill behind the home of Mrs. Odie Walker on Moore's Mill Road. The white Blankenship family members are buried on property belonging to Mr. Jim Hix and the black Blankenship grave's are a few yards south on the property of the Walkers. (1987 Comment) but still true in a certain way.
From Huntsville go northeast on Winchester Rd to New Market and turn left on Moores Mill Road. Follow that for several miles passing the bend to the right of the road. Go to Ruth Circle on your left and turn in. You will ind the cemetery on the right side of that road immediately after turning right. It is about 100 yards up the slope behind a trailer home in a stand of trees. Mr Pearce owns all the land surrounding the cemetery and makes some attempt to keep it clear. He lives nearby across Moores Mill Road.
