Some one close to this cemetery must have connections to a stone manufacturer. It appears they have taken scraps of granite and marked about all the grave lots in this cemetery with or without a known grave. There are hundreds of these markers in neat rows posted throughout the cemetery as you will notice in the photos.  Could this be an old slave and even more recent graveyard and contain this many unmarked graves. If you can answer this question we would like to hear from you.
There is an old school called Payne School marked on the topographical maps older than 1970 so this must have been the neighborhood of an an African-American School.

Several Markers have been painted with whitewash in the past. Probably not a good idea because the innards of old stones need to drain of water and stay dry and also the inscription is hard to see.

This Cemetery presentation is based on the photography of Wayne Austin on 29 Mar 2011, Original typing by Faye Bradford, and site linkage & programming by MB Richardson.
