Cemetery sign: "First public burial ground in Rogersville (est. 1818) Brush Arbor meetings were held here, and later a wooden structure was built & used by all faiths, this was destroyed by fire. A church building was built closer to town to replace it. There are many unmarked graves in this cemetery, both for whites and blacks. The black section is on north side toward town. I was unable to make a clear distinction between the two sections so did not separate them.) 9507
