Services Tuesday For Mrs. Martha Nichols
Mrs. Martha E. Nichols, 80, Leighton, route one, passed away Saturday night at 8:30 at the Colbert county hospital after an illness of one year.
Final rites will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Old Brick Church, with Rev. L.D. Overton, pastor of the Greenhill First Penecostal church, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Gearnest Falkner of the Hatton Baptist church.
Burial will follow in the Old Brick cemetery. Active bearers will be Bruce Smith, Howard Wimberly, Kenneth Nichols, W.L. Morris, Clayton Nichols, and Howard Peden.
Survivors include four sons, Alfred Nichols of Pittsburg, Miss., Brock Nichols of Mt. Hope, Lilborn Nichols of Fort Worth, Texas, Luther Nichols of Leighton; two daughters, Mrs. Julie Weldon of Orange Cove, California, and Mrs. Connie Aday of Leighton; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Cotton of Leighton, Mrs. Lucy Morris of Sheffield; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Nichols was born in Colbert County and had resided here all her life. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Brown Service of Tuscumbia is in charge of arrangements.
