This site was developed from photos taken by C. Wayne Austin of Madison
Al, 19 Nov 2009. Photos were then used by Mary Bob McClain Richardson of
Birmingham Alabama and compiled into a cemetery and history listing 23 Feb 2010.
Mary Bob's compilation was later edited & constructed into this web site by C. Wayne
Austin on 23 Aug 2010.
Other sources were a draft listing of the Lagrange
Cemetery by Harold Quillen of Florence Alabama, completed 7 Apr 2003. The book
"History of Lagrange College", by Prof A. A. McGregor. Mr. McGregor was a
teacher there and survivor of the Civil War whose documentation was destroyed in
the fires set by the federals 28 Apt 1863. The only edition of this little 94
page book I know of is today in the Tuscumbia Library in the genealogy room. It
was written about 1904. It is included here and has much Civil War History
in its pages. [CWA 25 Aug 2010.]
