Peter Akers

 Akers, Peter, 31 Jan 1756 - 15 Sep 1834 (age 78 years, 7 months, and 11 days; native of Virginia; son of William Akers and Elizabeth Martye; husband of Matsey �Martha� Harroway; emigrated to Maury County in 1816; Revolutionary War)

Brown, Charles Venable, 31 Jan 1790 � 25 Feb 1838 (age 48 years and 25 days; husband of Elizabeth Akers � married 19 Oct 1812 in Charlotte County, Virginia; son of Revolutionary War soldier James Brown and his wife, Martha Venable)

 

Charles Venable Brown was born 31 Jan 1790 in Charlotte County, Virginia to James T. Brown and Martha Venable. James Brown was a Revolutionary Soldier. Charles married Elizabeth Akers, daughter of Revolutionary Soldier Peter Akers and his wife, Martha Harroway, on 19 Oct 1812 in Charlotte County. Charles & Elizabeth along with her father, Peter Akers, moved to Maury County, Tennessee in 1816. Charles and Elizabeth had fifteen children: Peter Akers Brown, Charles Venable Brown Jr., Martha Ann Brown Covey, Elizabeth Frances Brown Smith, Mildred Angeline Brown Williamson, James P. Brown, Robert E. Brown, Grief S. Brown, Calvin Smith Brown, Sarah Minerva Brown Fitzpatrick, Joseph Russell Brown, Nancy Glenn Brown Bond, John Tillison Brown, and Lacy LeGrand Brown. Four of his children died young (Charles Jr. in Virginia, James P., Robert E. and Grief S. in Maury County). Of the others, only two (Mildred and Sarah) of them remained in Maury County, while the others settled in Obion County, Tn, Madison County, Tn and Marshall County, Tn.  Charles died at Culleoka on 25 February 1838, at the age of 48 years and 25 days.
